Runner Up!

Whilst doing what I do best (blog admiring ... aka 'blog stalking' ;-) I stumbled on a post of a photographer in Calgary - Heather Ward - talking about a contest from a LOVELY magazine Birth of a Mother . I perused their website, and thought about it - as I sat with the big kids running around my computer chair, the baby quietly nursing ... still in my jammies, hair in it's usual dishevelled mess, a smile spread across my face as I decided 'ah, what the heck!'. I went downstairs, and poured another cup of coffee - and went to town on an email, describing a day in the life (which isn't a pitty-party ... rather a busy party!) ... and walked away smiling when I was done, thinking - 'now wouldn't that be fun!!

A little while later, I received an email from Julie Jimmieson (Director of Operations) of the magazine, informing me that I had been selected for a runner-up for their Great Mother's Day Makeover Contest!! Woot-woot! My heart skipped a beat, and I was elated! They so graciously offered me a gift certificate to Swizzlesticks Salon and Spa for a free Shampoo, Cut, and Style with a certified Stylist! Within a week - this is the beautiful piece of mail I received:





THANK YOU! I am more than excited for this ... as not only will I have fabulous hair ... but I'll have an excuse to visit one of my most favorite cities ... Calgary! I'll look forward to dropping in sometime before May 10!
